Most homes still check the tank the same way: climb up, look in, come back down, guess. The guess is what causes the trouble, because a motor started on a wrong guess either runs dry or overflows.
SwitchFlo replaces the climb with a reading. The controller knows the level continuously, so it can start and stop the motor on the level itself rather than on somebody remembering to look.
